Joseph Mehdeh

Country Director 

Joseph G. Mehdeh is the Country Director for Riders for Health Liberia since November 2016 to present. He previously served as Project Manager and later, Program Manager respectively for Riders Liberia from June 2015 to Oct 2016.
Prior to joining the Riders Liberia Country Team, Joseph served in several senior managerial roles with a number of
 International Organizations in and outside Liberia including; as Program Manager for former President Sirleaf special project, the “Sirleaf Market Women’s Fund-Liberia” for Women’s Health and Economic Empowerment funded by UN Women, National Grants Officer for the International Rescue Committee (IRC-Liberia), The Chicago Ceasefire Project at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA, as Program Officer for the Young Women Christian Association of Liberia and as Executive Committee Member and Chair for Youth Committee at the Liberia Football Association among others. As member of Riders Liberia Senior Management team, Joseph brings over 15 years of outstanding experience that has strengthened communication and increased partnership and donor marketing for efficient service delivery, thus improving the system.
Joseph holds a Master of Science Degree in “Regional Science” from the University of Liberia Graduate School and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in “Sociology and Management” with emphasis in Development Planning and Management from the African Methodist Episcopal University in Liberia. He also earned a Post Graduate certificates in “Strategic Business Management” from the Harvard University, another in “International Development Project Management” from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, and “Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Community Peace building leadership” from the Chicago Ceasefire Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the United States of America. He currently studies “Masters in Public Health” at the University of Suffolk in the UK.
Joseph is an expert in Development & Health System Programming with requisite experience in partnership and Quality management and improving innovations for sustainability. He leads the national program team of over 405 staff, implementing change initiatives and maintaining organization’s strategic objectives while optimizing returns on outputs. Coordinating program activities with key stakeholders including Ministry of Health, Director General of the General Services Agency, Country Representative of WHO-Liberia, the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) Liberia offices and partners. Joseph’s presence at Riders for Health is a value-added to program outputs, and has increased visibility and motivation and reinforced confidence in Riders’ works and support to the Liberia health sector worldwide.
