Joseph Mehdeh

Country Director, Liberia


Joseph G. Mehdeh is the Country Director for Riders for Health Liberia since November 2016. He previously served as Project Manager and later, Program Manager respectively for Riders Liberia from June 2015 to Oct 2016.

Prior to joining the Riders Liberia Country Team, Joseph served a number of NGOs in and outside Liberia including as Program Manager for the President special project “Sirleaf Market Women’s Fund-Liberia” for Women’s Health and Economic Empowerment, National Grants Officer for the International Rescue Committee (IRC-Liberia), The Chicago Ceasefire project at the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA, as Program Officer for the Young Women Christian Association of Liberia and as member and youth Committee Chair for the Liberia Football Association among others.

As member of Riders Liberia Senior Management team, Joseph brings 10 solid years experiences as added value to the country program improving the system, increasing donor marketing and supporting vibrant partnership coordination and strengthening communication for efficient service delivery.

Joseph is a candidate for Master’s degree in Regional Planning at the University of Liberia graduate program, holds a BA degree in Sociology and Management with emphasis in development management from the African Methodist Episcopal University in Liberia.

He obtained several certificates in Development and Health programming, from the United States, Kenya and Liberia.

He also earned a Post graduate certificate in International Development project Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California and University of Illinois at Chicago USA respectively.

He urrently leads a team of 405 staff coordinating program related activities with key stakeholders including Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia, the Minister of Health, Director of the General Services Agency, Country Representative of WHO-Liberia and the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) Liberia offices.
